This ol' guitar

So now that I've had a lot more free time I've been taking being productive alittle more seriously. My acoustic guitar has really taking a beating over the last few years and until now I have never really done any maintenance on it so I took the liberty of doing so.

I have a Fender Dobro guitar which for those of you who don't know what the hell that is, let me explain. Dobro/Resonator is a style of guitar that was made back in the early 20's to try and make an acoustic guitar sound louder by putting a aluminum speaker in there. But then like 2 years later Les Paul came out with an Electric guitar and there wasn't much use for them anymore.

My Dad bought it this for me back when I was like 16 and Ive been playing it ever since. I took it apart to clean out all the dust and crap that was in there and tune it up a little bit.

I also tightened the truss rod on their so my strings wouldn't buzz so much but in fear of breaking the neck I ended up loosing it up. Giving it more of a buzzing, more worn-down sound, which i kinda like.

It still need some more work but for now I'm fine with it. Eventually i'm gonna raise the saddle and get rid of the buzzing all together but I do like the way it sounds right now. Kind of like an old beat up blues guitar.

All these shoes

So I got to go back to work today and I must have laced bout a 100 shoes! Got to say they got some pretty good lookin shoes this season, can't wait to try em out ;)

We hit up Grand Rapids over the weekend and I must say I was really disappointed with how bad I was skating. I suppose that's what I should expect since I haven't skated Vert in like 3 months but I must of thought it would be like riding a bike. I did alot of this...
Me and Cheryl drove up with May-day and met Lou and Calabro up there for a fun filled day of spills, thrills and sitting on our asses?

2nd run of the day, still frozen from the cold my wheel decided to take a vacation from my board mid grind through the deep-end and I ended up on my ass at the bottom watching it take its own run. I think its time for new trucks!

Anyways, I seem to have felt alittle guilt trip from the guys for "making them" drive up there but damn it a session was much needed and in the end I think they had a good time. We had a good session in the fish bowl for awhile and without a doubt Cheryl was skating with more life and vigor than the rest of us. Always with a smile xoxoxo

All and all it was good to get out there again and hopefully next time I can start trying 5s again and do something productive up there. I want more of this...

So it begins!

I've been wanting to start something like this for quite some time but haven't quite found the words that wanted to participate with me. Writers block would be an understatement but I figure ill just start typing and see where it takes me. Hopefully I can call this "Coherent rambling" and not of some foreseen disaster that someone or something will find offensive and send hate mail through this donkey express.

Anyways its the end of the weekend, which is in itself such a tragic term but can a weekend last forever??? In the words of Axle Rose "Nothing lasts forever even cold November rain" Que the head sway. Which sums it up for me in these cold months that lye ahead. I'm working towards something I truly believe in and with all my heart want more than anything to work. This winter will be a true test as to how far I will go to make this dream come true.
